CARBURETOR SETTING YAMAHA NOUVO / NEO AT115



Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 using x1 BS25 Mikuni carburetor type.

Tuning a carburetor vacuum is basically the same as a conventional carburetor.



Ideal conditions:

  • Clean the air filter [attached]
  • Clean the spark plug [attached]
  • Clean the carburetor [attached]
  • Motorcycle upright position [middle stand]
  • The temperature of the engine is at operating temperature [+/- heated for 5-10 minutes]



Setting:
Setting when the engine is cold [usually done after cleaning the carburetor]:
  1. turn the pilot air screw [PAS] clockwise [the right] to kinda stuck [should not be too tight].
  2. turn again pilot air screw [PAS] anticlockwise [left] as much as 1.5 - 2 rounds
  3. start the engine for 5-10 minutes
  4. Attach the tachometer to determine the stationary engine rotation, setting the engine speed at the [3000 - 5000 rpm]. if you not have rpm gauge [tachometer], setting the gas until the rear tires begin to spinning [+/- 2300-2500 rpm]
  5. tighten again pilot air screw [PAS] until the engine turns rising.
  6. If turning close (clockwise) rotation down the engine instead, stop turn. But it is rotated in the opposite direction while notice or feel the engine rotation changes
  7. If you have obtained the highest engine rotation, stop turning the PAS. Then forwarded to the throttle grip much as 2 to 3 times while feeling no weirdness or not
  8. when the engine feels “not good”, meaning the air flow is still poor. So that PAS needs to be opened a little more. Meanwhile, if there is noise exhaust shoot, sign air discharge too much. PAS needs to shut his little
  9. The last step if it is obtained setting PAS ideal, set back in round stationer at 1,700 ± 100 rpm [Hari Wijaya]. If the tachometer is not available, then switch it on and watch Head lamp - set up a stationary round lights are not bright-dim, turn the bolt stationary until the lights on the light and the "flat"

After completion of the above steps, do testing on the road. But do not get too far.
If it feels "there are less bad" than the initial setting, perform the following steps:

Setting the current heat engine:
Same as the above steps,
  1. Attach the tachometer to determine the stationary engine rotation, setting the engine speed at the [3000 sd 5000 rpm]. if no rpm gauge [tachometer], setting the gas until the rear tires spinning [+/- 2300-2500 rpm]
  2. When setting the wind / water pilot screw [PAS] played close (clockwise) rotation down the engine instead, do diterusin. But it is rotated in the opposite direction while notice or feel the engine rotation changes

  5. The last step if it is obtained peyetelan PAS ideal, set back in round stasionernya 1,700 ± 100 rpm [Hari Wijaya]. Note:

  • Pilot Air Screw setting is manual, then benchmark how the round is still very subjective, depending on the condition of the carburetor - experienced mechanics usually have a feeling that quite sensitive to these conditions. Just a suggestion, take the Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 you to the mechanic or repair shop that you trust. :)
  • The possibility of setting the carburetor Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 is not always appropriate to remember the life of the carburetor. If necessary, replace with a new carburetor repair kit.
  • Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 is a motor scooter that is discontinued - so no longer being sold new for this type - except in certain cases.

SETTING KARBURATOR YAMAHA NOUVO/NEO AT115
Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 menggunakan karburator MIKUNI tipe BS25 x1.
Penyetelan karburator vakum pada dasarnya sama saja dengan karburator konvensional.

Kondisi ideal:

  • Bersihkan filter udara [terpasang]
  • Bersihkan busi [terpasang]
  • Bersihkan karburator [terpasang]
  • Posisi motor tegak [standar tengah]
  • Suhu mesin berada pada suhu kerja [dipanaskan selama +/- 5-10 menit]


Cara setting:
Setting saat mesin dingin [biasanya dilakukan setelah membersihkan  karburator]:
  1. putar setelan angin / pilot air screw [PAS] searah jarum jam [arah kanan] sampai agak mentok [tidak boleh terlalu kencang].
  2. putar lagi setelan angin berlawanan arah jarum jam [arah kiri] sebanyak 1.5 – 2 putaran
  3. hidupkan mesin selama 5-10 menit
  4. Pasang tachometer untuk mengetahui putaran stasioner mesin, setting putaran mesin pada [3000 s.d. 5000 rpm]. kalau tidak ada alat pengukur rpm [tachometer], setting gas sampai ban belakang berputar [+/- 2300-2500 rpm]
  5. kencangkan lagi setelan angin / pilot air screw sampai putaran mesin meninggi.
  6. Kalau diputar menutup (searah jarum jam) putaran mesinnya malah turun, jangan diterusin. Tapi justru diputar ke arah sebaliknya sambil perhatikan atau rasakan perubahan putaran mesinnya
  7. Kalau sudah didapat putaran mesin tertinggi, berhenti memutar PAS. Lalu diteruskan dengan memblayer gas sebanyak 2 sampai 3 kali sambil merasakan ada keanehan atau tidak
  8. bila mesin terasa mbrebet, berarti debit udaranya masih kurang. Sehingga PAS perlu dibuka sedikit lagi. Sementara kalau knalpot ada suara nembak, tandanya debit udara terlalu banyak. PAS-nya perlu ditutup sedikit
  9. Langkah terakhir jika sudah didapat peyetelan PAS yang ideal, setel kembali stasionernya di putaran 1.700 ± 100 rpm [Hariyadi Wijaya]. Bila tachometer tidak tersedia, maka nyalakan dan perhatikan Head lamp – atur putaran  stasioner sampai nyala lampu tidak terang-redup, putarlah baut stasioner sampai lampu menyala terang dan “datar”

Setelah selesai langkah di atas, lakukan pengetesan di jalan. Tapi jangan terlalu jauh. Misalnya beli gorengan di depan komplek.
Bila rasanya ”masih ada yang kurang enak” dari setting awal, lakukan langkah kedua di bawah ini:

Setting saat mesin panas:
Sama seperti langkah di atas, tapi tidak lagi perlu memanaskan mesin.
  1. Pasang tachometer untuk mengetahui putaran stasioner mesin, setting putaran mesin pada [3000 s.d. 5000 rpm]. kalau tidak ada alat pengukur rpm [tachometer], setting gas sampai ban belakang berputar [+/- 2300-2500 rpm]
  2. Kalau setelan angin / pilot air screw [PAS] diputar menutup (searah jarum jam) putaran mesinnya malah turun, jangan diterusin. Tapi justru diputar ke arah sebaliknya sambil perhatikan atau rasakan perubahan putaran mesinnya
  3. Kalau sudah didapat putaran mesin tertinggi, berhenti memutar PAS. Lalu diteruskan dengan memblayer gas sebanyak 2 sampai 3 kali sambil merasakan ada keanehan atau tidak

Catatan:

  • Settingan Pilot Air Screw masih manual, maka patokan berapa putaran masih sangat subyektif, tergantung kondisi karburator – mekanik yang berpengalaman biasanya memiliki feeling yang cukup peka terhadap kondisi ini. Sekedar saran, bawalah motor Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 Anda ke mekanik atau bengkel yang Anda percaya. :)
  • Kemungkinan setting karburator Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 tidak selalu tepat mengingat usia pakai karburator. Bila perlu, gantilah dengan repair kit karburator yang baru.
  • Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115 adalah motor scooter yang discontinued – jadi tidak ada lagi yang dijual baru untuk tipe ini – kecuali dalam kasus tertentu.
  • Perhatikan sebelum membeli Yamaha Nouvo / Neo AT115, apakah tipe karburator sesuai dengan standar [MIKUNI Tipe BS25 x1] , setelah dibeli periksalah kembali apakah pernah diganti dengan repair kit lain.
